The Bethlehem Retreat Centre was purchased in 1987 by Bishop Remi J.De Roo for the Diocese
of Victoria. Situated on over seven acres on Westwood Lake, the main building of Bethlehem
faces the lake giving a delightful view over the water and the wooded hills beyond. The
facility was leased to the Benedictine Sisters of Nanaimo who have renovated and enlarged
the retreat facilities and are responsible for the programming.
In keeping with the long tradition of Benedictine Hospitality Bethlehem welcomes all those
who wish to come apart for rest, retreat, or growth. Individuals as well as all religious,
non-profit and social service organizations are invited to participate or schedule events
at the Centre.
